Tropical Storm Isaias Joint Preliminary Damage Assessment

Lehigh County, PA- A Joint Preliminary Damage Assessment (JPDA) is currently being conducted for all Lehigh County municipalities, residents, and businesses affected by Tropical Storm Isaias. On behalf of PEMA and FEMA, the Lehigh County Office of Emergency Management is requesting those who incurred substantial uninsured or underinsured damages to submit their information to the county’s online damage assessment tool. This is a time-sensitive matter and must be done as quickly as possible.

This tool will request information about the property and the damages, as well as allow you to upload pictures, documents, and other information that will verify damages. As much information as possible should be supplied to help avoid delays.

Residents and businesses must submit their information by no later than noon on Wednesday, September 16, 2020. Both FEMA and PEMA have already started reviewing data that has been submitted. As the process moves forward, additional information may be needed to clarify and justify the reported expenses. Those who are unsure if they qualify for assistance are encouraged to submit their information for consideration.

Curbside Branch Collection: September 21, 2020

The Salisbury Township Public Works Department will be conducting a curbside branch collection for residents during the week of September 21 – 25, 2020.  Residents should place their branches at the curb on Sunday, September 20 after 6:00 pm.  Branches may be no larger than five-feet long and five inches in diameter, and should be bundled and tied with twine.  An open container may be used for small twins, but must be open.  No bags or lids, please. 

Smoke Testing to be Conducted

Smoke testing will be conducted by Keystone Consulting Engineers in the Township’s on-going efforts to address and reduce Inflow & Infiltration (I&I) into the sanitary sewer system.   The work will take place in the Eastern portion of the Township, specifically in the Basin 10 area, and will be split into 3 phases, beginning with Phase 1 in mid-September 2020.  Phase 1 will include the area from East Emmaus Avenue at Maumee Avenue and extending to Park Avenue and north up to East Susquehanna Street ONLY.  Door-hanger notices will be provided to residents and business owners at least 48 hours prior to the smoke testing in your area.  Your patience and cooperation during this sanitary sewer testing project are greatly appreciated.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the Township’s Engineer, Keystone Consulting Engineers, Inc., directly at 610-395-0971.
