Recycling Delay – Tuesday, December 6, 2022
Pleased be advised that Republic Services is running on day behind for Tuesday’s recycling collection in the Devonshire neighborhood as well as Capital Street, Berger Street and the Emmaus portion of the Township. Please leave your items curbside as they expect to collect the recycling in those areas tomorrow, December 7, 2022.
SALISBURY TOWNSHIP PUBLIC NOTICE
Notice is given in accordance with requirements of and in compliance with the First Class Township Code 53 P.S. §56701(b), as amended, that the Board of Commissioners of Salisbury Township, Lehigh County, Pennsylvania, (the “Township”) is making available for public inspection the Township’s proposed budget for the 2023 calendar year. The proposed budget is available for inspection at the Salisbury Township Municipal Building, 2900 South Pike Avenue, Allentown, PA 18103, on any regular business day between the hours of 8:30 AM and 4:30 PM prevailing time.
The date set for the adoption of the budget is Thursday, December 8, 2022 at 7:00 PM, which is not less than twenty (20) days from the date of this Notice.
The Municipal Building is accessible to the physically handicapped. Any person requiring special assistance because of an impairment is requested to contact the Township Manager at 610-797-4000 or info@salisburylehighpa.gov to arrange for the necessary assistance.

IMPORTANT UPDATE Regarding Thursday’s Trash Collection!
Due to the volume of trash anticipated due to the Thanksgiving holiday, Republic Services will be collecting Thursday’s trash customers on Saturday, November 26th. NOTE: ONLY RESIDENTS WHO HAVE THEIR TRASH COLLECTED ON THURSDAYS WILL BE PICKED UP ON SATURDAY. Normal Monday-Thursday collection will resume on your next scheduled pickup day (Monday, November 28th).
No Trash Collection – November 24, 2022
In observance of Thanksgiving, Republic Services will not collect trash on Thursday, November 24. THIS ONLY IMPACTS RESIDENTS WHO HAVE THEIR TRASH COLLECTED ON THURSDAYS. Collection will resume on your next scheduled pickup day (Monday, November 28th).
The Township of Salisbury will receive sealed bids electronically via the PennBid Program for the Sanitary Sewer System Rehabilitation Project Open Cut Spot Repairs and Installation of Sewage Backwater Valves project. This work will include rehabilitation/spot repairs to their sanitary sewer system, along with the installation of backwater valves at select private property sewer service laterals. The sanitary sewer rehabilitation project involves the excavation and spot repairs to existing 8” clay pipe mains at various locations within the sewer system. In addition, five private property laterals will be provided with backwater valves. Bids will be received until 2:00 PM (prevailing time) on Monday, November 28, 2022. Bid results will be made available on PennBid after Owner’s bid evaluation and review.
Copies of the Specifications/Bid Forms are available at no cost on PennBid (https://PennBid.ProcureWare.com).
Each bid must be accompanied by bid security made payable to the Township of Salisbury in an amount of ten percent (10%) of the total bid price and in the form of a certified or bank check or a Bid Bond issued by a surety meeting the requirements of Paragraph 6.01 of the General Conditions. This project is subject to minimum wage rates in accordance with the applicable provisions of the Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act and the Public Works Employee Verification Act. Owner reserves the right to waive any informality in, and/or to reject, any or all bids.
